Technician Trainees

Our Technician training scheme offers opportunities to school/college leavers who want to combine on-the-job training with the chance to gain qualifications through day release. The minimum entry requirements are five GCSEs or equivalent at grade C or above.

The standard academic route is the BTEC National Certificate/Diploma which leads to the Higher National Certificate/Diploma/Foundation Degree in a relevant construction related topic.

What’s involved in on-the-job training? Throughout the training period you will have the support of a mentor and, if you show exceptional ability on the Higher National, you will be given assistance to continue your progression up the career ladder.

Your training plan will be individually designed to provide broad-based, mainly practical experience in:

• Estimating and Tendering
• Contract/Project Planning
• Quantity Surveying and Financial Management
• Site Organisation and Management
